Open up a world of opportunities.
Rotary hosts a number of programmes for young people to provide them with opportunities to study and live overseas.
We contacted Tameside Rotary, its instigators regarding this project, and enquired whether we could be of help. Its president welcomed our enquiry and subsequent involvement.
A Charity Evening, with food, entertainment and raffles was held at the Cinnamon Lounge, Ripponden, Halifax to raise funds to equip the Eye Hospital.
In Sylhet there are a staggering 60,000 inhabitants who are part or totally blind, 75% caused by cataracts. Around 9,000 new cases occur every year.
The Charity Evening was highly successful with a substantial amount of money raised, which has helped to give the Gift of Sight to many of the suffering.
New Generations Service Exchange

New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE) is a Rotary exchange programme for young adults combining the opportunity to live abroad with giving hands-on vocational or humanitarian service.
Activities can be chosen to support one or more of Rotary’s cause areas.
Rotary Peace Fellowships
Each year, Rotary supports around 100 professionals to undertake study at one of seven Rotary Peace Centres around the world.
Through academic learning and practical implementation, Rotary Peace Fellows become global leaders in peacebuilding and international development.
