ROTARY SOWERBY BRIDGE JUNIOR & INFANT SCHOOLS SUPPORT
-
Rotarians currently work in a local J&I school providing reading support to its pupils.
-
In addition, once a week, a ‘Rotakids’ club is held in another school during lunch hour.
-
The aim of our involvement is to promote volunteering, co-operative working and philanthropy among year’s 4 and 5 pupils.
-
An annual Inter-Schools Quiz is held at Ryburn High School with up to eight local primary schools competing for a winners shield.
-
Support is given to junior sections of sporting clubs in the Sowerby Bridge area on approved projects.
Creating opportunities and unlocking potential.
Thousands of young people get involved with Rotary’s competitions, programmes and activities, all designed to unlock their potential.
One of Rotary’s leading commitments is to offer young people the opportunity to develop their skills and broaden their horizons.
Through RotaKids, Interact and Rotaract clubs, there are ways which young people from ages 7 to 30 can get involved with volunteering in their communities in a friendly and sociable environment.
Our national youth competitions in a range of creative fields give young people the chance to showcase their talents and win some amazing prizes.
Other activity schemes such as Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and Rotary Youth Exchange help young people learn not only about themselves, but the world around them.
Rotary members are People of Action. We change the lives of thousands of young people each year.
